We Buy The Kit Other Companies Turn Down

Most IT buyback companies only want hardware that is under four years old and in full working order. Anything else gets routed into free recycling, which means you hand it over and get nothing back.

We work differently. Buying redundant hardware is the core of our business, not a sideline to a disposal service, so we look at equipment other suppliers write off. Older kit, faulty units, part-complete systems, and mixed pallets are all worth showing us. Some of it has resale value once refurbished. Some of it is worth having for the components. Either way, you find out before you decide.

There is no minimum quantity. We collect single items, and we clear full IT suites.

What Your Equipment Is Worth

Value comes down to make, model, age, specification, condition and what the resale market is paying for that model this month. Bulk quantities usually improve the rate.

One Thing Worth Knowing: IT hardware depreciates quickly. Equipment sitting in a store cupboard is losing value every month it stays there, so the sooner you get it valued after decommissioning, the more you get for it.

Tell Us What You Have Got

Send an asset list, take a few photos, or just ring and talk it through. A spreadsheet with make, model, specification, age and quantity gets you the most accurate valuation, but we will work with whatever you have.

Step 2

We Value It

Your account manager assesses each item against its condition and current market demand, then comes back with a clear valuation and an explanation of how we got there. Free, and no obligation to accept it.

Step 3

We Collect It

We arrange a free collection around your operations, including out-of-hours and multi-site collections where you need them. All collections are carried out by our own DBS-checked staff.

Step 4

We Destroy the Data

Every data-bearing device is securely wiped or physically destroyed before it goes anywhere near resale. You get a certificate of destruction listing the devices covered, so your compliance file is complete.

Step 5

You Get Paid

Once the process is complete, payment will be made according to your agreed invoice terms.

Your Data Does Not Leave With The Hardware

The reason most people hesitate before selling old kit is not the money. It is what is still on the drives.

Every device goes through secure data destruction before resale, either certified wiping or physical destruction, depending on your policy. You get a destruction certificate for your records, plus WEEE documentation for anything recycled rather than resold. We are registered with the ICO and hold a Waste Carriers Licence with the Environment Agency, so your collection is handled by a business legally authorised to take it away rather than an unregistered courier.

Worth weighing up: destroying a drive means replacing it before the machine can be resold, so it lowers what we can pay you. Certified wiping removes the data just as completely and preserves the value.

How long does the process take and when do I get paid?

The process typically takes 7 to 14 working days, depending on the size and complexity of your collection.

Payment is made in line with your agreed invoicing terms, whether these are payment on receipt, 14 days, 30 days, or another agreed timeframe. Your account manager will confirm the expected timings once we know more about your collection.

Can you destroy the drives instead of wiping them?

Yes, if your security policy requires it. Bear in mind that a destroyed drive has to be replaced before the machine can be resold, so physical destruction reduces what we can pay you.

Certified wiping removes the data just as thoroughly and preserves the value, which is why we usually recommend it.

Do you buy from schools and public sector organisations?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We are used to the documentation, procurement processes and data protection requirements that come with education and public sector collections, including multi-site clear-outs and phased refreshes.

Can I donate some of the equipment instead of taking payment?

Yes, and plenty of clients do. Through our Digital Access Programme, you can set aside part of a collection for children who need devices, take the value on the rest, or split it however suits you. You get a breakdown showing which devices were paid out and which were donated, which is useful if you report on social value.

Devices are refurbished and passed on through James Hopkins Trust in Gloucestershire and ITSA Digital Trust in Africa, and they go through the same secure wipe and certification as everything else we handle.
